Active/Myofascial Release Therapy is a massage technique used to treat soft tissue conditions throughout the body, such as scar tissue or adhesions. When scar tissue or adhesions are present in overused muscles, the muscles contract and weaken, nerves become compressed and there is limited blood flow and mobility accompanied by pain. Our registered healthcare practitioners assess the quality of the muscle tissue and mobility by applying tension to certain areas, while directing specific movement patterns.

During an Active/ Myofascial Release Therapy treatment a registered practitioner will evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. The therapy is a systematic approach to patient and tissue tolerance as the patient can control the active movement during each treatment. Active/ Myofascial Release Therpay is used to allow for a dramatic change in comfort, flexibility and strength and optimize performance and function.
