Dr. David John Starmer is a chiropractor who combines evidence-based chiropractic care with a wellness approach to help his patients recover and prevent future recurrences of pain. He is truly passionate about taking a holistic and lifestyle approach to health and wants to share this with his patients. Dr. Starmer tries to use a unique blend of treatment options involving chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy (Active Release Techniques, Graston Techniques), gentle joint mobilizations, pain and healing modalities (IFC, US, Laser, Microcurrent, Direct Vibration), ergonomic advice, orthotics, and personalized and progressive therapeutic exercise programs.
Along with Dr. Starmer’s private practice he also maintains an active role as an instructor in the departments of Clinical Diagnosis, Clinical Education and Chiropractic Therapeutics at CMCC since 2008. Dr. Starmer has been recognized by both faculty and students for his passionate teaching style. Dr. Starmer has been appointed Chair of the Faculty Council at CMCC in 2011, and has already received two teaching awards voted by the student body at CMCC, and one teaching award from the Dean of the college. In his spare time, he enjoys keeping fit through cycling, golf, skiing, and resistance training. Whether it is an emergency or a long-standing problem, he addresses the issue in two ways: resolving the current pain, then addressing the underlying body imbalances in order to prevent and minimize recurrence.
